My Top Care Tips for Your Soy Candle
I want to make sure that you're getting the best burn time with the soy candles that you spend your hard earned money on. I bet you didn't know that your candle could tunnel just by the way you're burning it! See the list below for my tips:
- Trim your wick to 1/4 of an inch every time you burn your candle. It may be cut a little bit longer on the first light.
- On the first burn, be sure to have the candle lit until the wax melts to the edge of the jar. If not, on the next burn the candle will only go to the point melted previously. This is called a memory ring. Plan to burn the candle for about 1 hour per inch in diameter.
- When your candle is not in use, keep the candle in a cool dry place with the lid on.
- If you see your candle flame flickering or black smoke coming from it, this means that the candle isn’t burning properly. Put out the flame and trim the wick.
- Feel free to reuse the jars! When your candle is finished, simply rinse it out with soap and hot water.
- Do not leave your candle unattended at any time.
